Offering of tobacco at Saddle of the Gap – Cumberland Gap

The 2014 Raid at Martin’s Station was epic as usual.  Got quite a bit of rain Friday and Saturday, but as the saying goes – “who cares, its Martin’s Station!”  Working on an article about the Cumberland Gap that I hope to have published in the near future.

I don’t have to many event pics.  Most were taken from the Cumberland Gap on the Friday of the event.  Raid Pics are in the photo gallery or click here

I would just like to thank all of the staff and volunteers at the wilderness road state park near Ewing, Virginia. The 2014 Raid at Martin’s Station was a great event as usual. “The Raid” is hands down one of the best living history events in the country. Some of the best artists, authors, craftsmen, and re-enactors gather at this event, and the park staff makes sure an 18th century weekend goes off without a hitch. The scenery is beautiful, and the authenticity is unparalelled.
